Scott Pete

The sausage brand known as the “Flavor of Chicago” wanted to grab attention where it mattered most—at the shelf.

Scott Pete is about as Chicago as it gets: a sausage company founded by an immigrant family with roots in the Windy City dating back to 1926. Their Polishes, smoked sausages and hot dogs are so iconic they’re known as the “flavor of Chicago.” In 2020, Scott Pete looked to NewPoint to raise sales-velocity at one of their most important Chicagoland retail-partners: Jewel-Osco.

Among other things, summer is very definitely hot dog season, and we created “shelf-talkers”— branded signs to display on the shelf at every Jewel-Osco—to help customers decide what to throw on their grill.

In keeping with Scott Pete’s reputation, the shelf-talkers made a visual representation of a flavor as big and bold as the city itself. With this type of shopper marketing in place during peak grilling season, aka the “dog days of summer,” Scott Pete was now poised to capitalize off peak grilling season.
